HumDrumPress

HumDrumPress is a publishing project, based in Rotterdam and Berlin, that experiments towards publishing as a commons. HDP produces collaboration-focused publications, hosts public gatherings, and maintains a commons-based publishing model as part of an expanded and experimental publishing practice. Since 2021, HDP have been actively researching how to deconstruct and reconstruct each stage of the publishing process to make each element as collective, communal, and accessible in its approach, as a way to question the conventions and boundaries of traditional publishing and propose new work models. Their research and activities are brought to life through collaborations and publications, with multiple publishing trajectories including zines, books, posters, manuals, manifestos, P.A.P.s (Publishing as Practice series), and more.
