Ötza: The Skinny Body Without Organs
EN | Reading and book launch
29.11 → 15:30–16:30

Making an appearance at the queer literary event of the year, Ötza will present her first ever publication, The Skinny Body Without Organs (2025), reading snippets from the book and sharing brand-new material. Ötza is a cryodesiccated fanfiction writer from the Neolithic, some 5300 years old. She is a stern advocate for prehistoric literacy and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of post-historical theory-fiction. While her corporeal counterpart is locked in a cooling cell at the Museum of Archaeology in the Italian town of Bolzano, she starts writing. To express her hopeful yearnings for counterfactual salvation from her fate of archaeological conservation, but also to attempt to rewrite the narrative (unfairly) extrapolated from scientific reconstructions. Ötza is written and performed by artist Levi van Gelder (1995), who lives and works in Amsterdam.
