All languages
29.11 & 30.11 → 12:00–18:00

Join WERKER at the Brussels Ass Book Fair for a pop-up workshop on woodblock textile printing. The collective will bring along queer-themed woodblocks from their personal archive, as well as new designs depicting queer histories from Brussels. Bring your own t-shirt or garment and use their woodblock collection and homemade ecological ink to print your very own design! While there, you can also discover a collection of archive materials on queer histories, a special reader with background information on the woodblocks, as well as a choice selection of WERKER publications.
WERKER operates at the intersection of labour, ecofeminism and the LGBTQ+ movements, advocating an image-based critique of daily life to analyse what becomes visible and what remains hidden or hushed in different political contexts. The art collective was set up by Marc Roig Blesa and Rogier Delfos in Amsterdam in 2009. It has since released ten issues of its WERKER MAGAZINE and explored a diverse range of media, including installation, performance, video, sound, textile and digital publishing. WERKER also develops and organises community projects, reading groups, films clubs, radio podcasts and publishing workshops.
